Bogotá Fashion Week A/W 26: The Key Trends to Know

Bogotá Fashion Week has once again proven to be a vibrant crossroads of heritage and playful innovation. This season, the runways reflected a dialogue between the earth-inspired textures and an upbeat, climate-bending aesthetic, as Colombian designers are redefining the regional wardrobe with a global perspective.

Here are the emerging trends that caught the attention of our Senior Strategist Sofia Martellini, who was on the ground in Bogotá last week to check everything out firsthand.

1. Earth-Baked: Geological Connections and Elemental Origins

This trend celebrates the primal roughness and raw beauty of ancient landscapes. We are seeing a move toward Earth-first woven surfaces, where rustic appeal meets sophisticated construction.

The focus here is on the tactile. Pitbullying and Puente led the charge in the denim sector, showcasing earth-baked, cracked and dusted washes that mimic the topography of desert canyons. Utilising techniques such as acid-wash, tie-dye effects and ozone washing, these brands have transformed denim into a canvas for elemental storytelling.

La Petit Mort further upgraded this narrative, bringing a rustic appeal to authentic wovens. Their use of salvaged surfaces, worn-in texture, and earthy Sepia Tones reflects a commitment to biodegradability through RWS/ZQ-certified wools and organic cottons.

2. The Off-Season Aesthetic

As weather patterns become increasingly unpredictable, the industry is shifting toward Off-Season dressing – a striking fusion of opposites that blends summer shapes with winter textures, or winter materials with summer colours and prints. While the trend has global appeal, it resonates particularly well with Colombian weather, which is more varied than one might expect, ranging from tropical high temperatures in coastal Cartagena and Barranquilla to the mild ones of Bogotá.

Sixxta and Swim Favors captured this shift perfectly, presenting collections tailored to the shoulder months. We observed winter silhouettes executed in summer hues and vice versa. Aesthetically, this translated into unexpected fabric mixes – bright openwork skirts paired with cosy outerwear and tropical prints reimagined for skiwear.

3. Hyper-Bloom: The Hothouse Effect

Our Hothouse forecast trend embraces statement flowers in bold colours, 3D renditions and hyper-saturated textures.

Andrés Pajón and Eloísa channelled this vibrant energy through large-scale floral motifs and vivid colours. In the Eloísa collection, we saw lilies emerge as key icons in blurry, soft focus iterations, while Andrés Pajón used amplified orchids to create something more directional and sophisticated. Sustainability remains a pillar here, with digital printing techniques utilised to minimise overproduction and water waste.

In Bogotá, sustainability persists

The common thread across Bogotá Fashion Week is a renewed interest in sustainability as a design strategy. Whether it is Pitbullying’s use of regenerative cotton or La Petit Mort’s focus on ancient Sashiko repair work, the A/W 26 collections prove that fashion’s future lies in its ability to honour the past while adapting to a changing planet.
